Xamira is the founder of beautiful Ashtanga Yoga Colares
She was seriously introduced into Yoga while living in Mumbai, India in 2011. After a decade of practicing (ashtanga) Yoga and making this practice a ritual and daily routine, Xamira started to assist with renowned ashtanga yoga teachers to learn the teachings of mysore style. Xamira´s character took her to let go and venture into opening her own yoga school to share the teachings of Yoga and to provide a space so Yoga could be practiced and learned in-depth and with authenticity by everyone with any kind of body and mind. In this way she started a mysore program where students learn as the basic foundation the traditional sequence of Ashtanga Yoga, but where there is the openness to introduce specialised ways to move, breath and meditate in order to really support the individual needs of the student. Because to her the ritual and discipline to provide a base for meditation is more important than the quantities of asana. She holds a degree in Philosophy with specialisation on Western Esotericism. Her philosophy is to live Yoga in this world and to apply the ancient teachings in conjunction with modern science to create a toolbox for others to find was to do so too. |

Francisco (Xico) started his Yoga journey from an early age on with his first yoga teacher, his mother. Even though he didn't like it at first, after 20+ years he is still at it.
He, lived in India, he is an Authorised Level 2 teacher by KPJ Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute, in Mysore India. In 2008 he was invited to assist Sharth Jois in the main yoga Shala in India. Through the influence of his first Ashtanga yoga teacher, Tim Miller, he discovered Ashtanga Yoga Inprov and continues to develop this method of sadhana / yoga practice in more uniques ways. This inspired him to create alternative sequences to have more tools to teach and meet the needs of the students, but where the focus always lies on Concentration, Breath and Meditation. He draws his inspiration not only from the traditional yoga practices, but also from movement culture, BJJ, acrobatics and rock climbing and more. Another Great teachers that came across Xico´s Path was Rolf and Marcy Noujokat who were his teachers for several years in Goa. After running a successful mysore program in Lisbon, Yoga Lisboa , and another in Cascais, Quinta do Xico He decided to focus on returning to the countryside where he grew up. Yoga, Breathing, Movement and most of all Meditation are the core of the yoga method he develops and that manifests its self in our daily classes both Through Mysore Unlimited and Ashtanga Yoga Inprov |
